Alyssa Misuraca
Owner/CEO Mental Performance Coach |
Mental performance coaching is a passion of mine. I fell in love with it when I was still an athlete myself, playing collegiate volleyball. My coach introduced the whole team to the field and required us to utilize mental skills. I was a complete skeptic at first, but played along and was blown away when I saw the change in not only my own play but also in my teammates' play. Since then, I have studied in the field, earning a Masters in Performance Psychology from National University. I've also practiced in the field for the past three years, coaching the next generation of athletes as well as leading individual and group session both online and in person. Finally, I've utilized this knowledge in my personal life, improving my understanding of my stress, emotions, and self-talk and learning how to communicate through these in my relationships. I want to help you see the success of mental performance coaching for yourself. I want you to see the benefits of goal setting, proper focus, reframing, and so many other mental skills. I want you to see the balance and freedom created and felt in your performance when you combine physical training and mental training. I encourage you to take the next step in your performance because you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. |

Mental Performance Coach Licensed Massage Therapist & Body Alignment & Recovery Coach "I AM RECRUITED" College Recruiting Consultant |
My mental performance journey began in 2012, when a coach introduced the passionate affirmation of “I AM.” My reality changed as a player when I started believing these statements: “I am the best server in the gym; I am the loudest and fastest in the gym; I am the best setter in the gym.” This mindset awarded me collegiate scholarships- athletically and academically- and the opportunity to play overseas at the national level in England. There, I pursued a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science. With my education and athletic experience, I have absorbed the correlations between physical performance and mindset, and how to apply them. Mental coaching brings a more focused performance on the court, and awareness of our thoughts and behaviors. The recurring thoughts that circulate through your mind turn into daily routines. They drive your story and determine what your future has the potential to hold. Mental performance reframes how you process external and internal information, and gives you confidence in your emotions. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, I see how emotions and memories are stored in our muscles, fascia, and breath. When we are unaware of the physical tension and mental fog we unintentionally create, we can delay our progress and initiate injury. We must align overall performance through physical and mental practice. Together, we will use mechanical skills, like proprioception (understanding where your body is in space), and mental skills, like visualization, to give you the skill of awareness. Then, you can be in complete control of your performance and success. |

Mental Performance Coach |
My passion for mental skills started in an elective class in high school. I thought taking the class would help my own performance, and 3 classes in, I realized mental skills were the future of performance and I was all in. I not only practice mental skills myself, but use my skills to help others as well. I enjoy working with athletes of all ages, from youth to collegiate levels. It's never too late to start your journey into mental training. I want to help everyone be the best versions of themselves both mentally and physically. I want to show you that you can achieve more than you thought was possible when you recruit your mind to help you reach your potential instead of holding you back. I want to show you that you can manage your thoughts in any situation. I want to help you become the best version of you. |

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) |
My journey in sports nutrition began when I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Arizona State University (ASU). Here I also worked with ASU athletics, before going on to work with minor league baseball teams. Now I am excited to partner my business, The Working Dietitian, with Balanced Performance to be a piece of the puzzle to optimize your athletic performance! One of my favorite hobbies is exploring new restaurants with family and friends. I believe this is important to share with my clients because I aim to foster a no-judgment environment and teach a sustainable way of approaching food and nutrition. I want to help you find a balance between food and performance, as well as help you feel confident and in control of your health and energy on and off the court or field! Together we can fuel your body for optimal performance and recovery, as well as reduce your risk of injury. |
